The first single from Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani 2 is here and the song, Mehram, is every bit as melodious as we'd expect music of Sujoy's cinema would be.
Interestingly, Sujoy has not roped in composers Vishal & Shekhar for the sequel to his hit 2011 film. Vishal-Shekhar had their foundation in Bollywood with Sujoy's debut feature Jhankar Beats. Since then, the composer duo has scored for every Sujoy film till date, except Kahaani 2.
Clinton Cerejo, who earlier scored Sujoy's home production TE3N, is the music composer this time. Written by Arijit Bhattacharya and crooned by Arijit Singh, Mehram is a breezy, melodious number that is nothing sort of a earworm.
Vidya Balan plays Durga Rani Singh in the new film. Arjun Rampal stars as a policeman in the film. While promoting Kahaani 2, Vidya said, "The film has a universal story. Honestly, when I am doing something I completely enter into it and I don't think how the film will turn out."
